Tri-Tran+ and compatibility

Our Tri-Tran+ controls use encrypted communication across three frequencies to help reduce interference from other wireless equipment. If one or two frequencies are affected, communication can continue on the others. Radio control still has limits: it cannot eliminate every source of interference or attempted intrusion.

Premium handheld remotes are compact four-button keyring controls. Choose from red and black styles in our current range. Wall-mounted remotes provide a convenient fixed control location inside the garage.

These are model-specific kit and memory details. A memory limit is the number of registered transmitters, not the number of app users or doors that every remote can operate. Confirm inclusions for the actual replacement or new package.

Before ordering a replacement

Start with the model and version on your opener label. Check the combinations in our B&D Remote Compatibility Chart (October 2023), then ask us to confirm newer hardware outside the chart. The remote’s appearance alone may not identify the receiver it works with.

Have a photo of your opener and transmitter labels handy when you contact us. If your older system needs a receiver conversion or has no direct replacement, we’ll help you identify the approved receiver and controls.

Lost remotes and changing occupants

Lost a remote or taking over a property? Review who can operate the door. Follow your model’s instructions to remove and re-register controls, or ask a technician to help. Some openers require all transmitter memory to be cleared before the retained controls are coded again.

Review app users and keypad codes separately. Erasing radio transmitters does not necessarily remove every other form of access.

Battery and fault checks

The linked RDO-1V3/RDO-1V4 and SDO-6V3/7V3/9V3 manuals specify a CR2032 3 V battery for their handheld transmitters. Check the actual remote before replacing a battery, fit the correct polarity and keep coin cells away from children. Follow the product’s disposal instructions.
