Garage door repairs and servicing in Gold Coast
Garage door giving you trouble? We can help you arrange professional repairs and servicing in Gold Coast and South East Queensland. Tell us what’s changed, where you are and which door and opener you have. Your local provider will confirm coverage, appointment availability and the work required.
The repair form opens on our main B&D website. For planned maintenance, use our service request form.
If your door is unsafe, stop using it
If the door is crooked, off its tracks, has a broken spring or cable, or may fall, keep people and vehicles clear and arrange a trained technician. Do not force the door, adjust springs or cables, or disconnect an unsupported door from its opener. Avoid repeatedly operating a door with suspected mechanical damage.
For urgent help, call 13 62 63 or use our emergency repair contacts. Confirm availability, attendance and any after-hours or call-out charge directly with the provider.
Tell us what your door is doing
You don’t need to diagnose the fault before contacting us. A clear description helps the repairer plan the visit. Note what you can see or hear from a safe position without running the door again to reproduce the problem.
| What you notice | What to tell the repairer |
|---|---|
| The door is stuck open or closed | Its current position, any visible damage or obstruction and whether the property can be secured. |
| The remote does not operate the door | The remote and opener model, whether another control works and any light or sound pattern you have already observed. |
| The motor runs but the door does not move | Whether the manual-release mechanism has been used and whether anything happened immediately before the fault. |
| The door reverses, stops or moves slowly | Where it stops, whether the movement is uneven and whether anything is obstructing the Safety Beam path, if fitted. |
| Scraping, grinding, squeaking or unusual motor noise | When the change began and whether the noise is accompanied by uneven movement or visible damage. |
| A broken panel, bent track, damaged spring or cable | Describe the damage without touching the mechanism. Keep the door out of use while you arrange help. |
| The motor continues to run or a lock will not operate | The model and installed accessories, the control used and whether the door can be secured safely. |
Repair or routine service?
A repair starts with a fault or damaged component. A service checks the condition and operation of the door, opener and installed accessories. If something has changed, tell us when booking rather than waiting for a routine service to become due.
During a service, a technician assesses movement, balance and alignment; mountings and fixings; springs and lifting components; opener travel and force settings; and fitted safety or locking equipment. The work and suitable lubrication depend on the actual door and opener. Additional parts or repair work may need a separate quote.
We recommend servicing by a B&D Representative within 12 months of installation and every two years thereafter. This is also a condition of eligible Total Confidence cover, alongside the other warranty requirements. Your product handbook and operating conditions may require more frequent checks or attention. Read the applicable warranty and care requirements; a product name alone does not establish the same cover for every installation.
Use the instructions for your exact model
Manual-release steps, indicator codes, remote programming and maintenance instructions differ between models and generations. Find the model on the equipment label when it is safe to do so. Don’t use a fault-code interpretation or release procedure for a different opener.
- Power Drive RDO-1V4 and Roll-A-Pro RDO-1V3 manual, document 161061_05.
- Smart Pro SDO-9V3, Smart SDO-7V3 and Secure SDO-6V3 manual, document 161083_02.
- Owner manuals for other doors, openers and generations.
A power failure is different from mechanical damage. Use the matching manual’s release instructions only when the door is safe to operate and follow all precautions. A disengaged opener may no longer hold the door locked. If you are unsure whether manual operation is safe, ask the repairer before attempting it.
Do not spray oil or grease indiscriminately onto tracks, guides, locks or sensors. Care and lubrication depend on the mechanism and handbook. Spring tension, cable repairs, track alignment and opener force or travel adjustments should be handled by a trained technician.
Prepare for the visit
- Product details: door type, opener model and generation, controls and any fitted accessories.
- What happened: when the fault started, visible damage, unusual sounds and any recent impact or power interruption.
- Records: installation date, dealer, purchase receipt and service history, especially if you believe the issue may be covered by warranty.
- Your location and access: suburb, a safe way to access the garage and any restrictions the provider needs to know about.
- Photographs: images of the label or damage taken from a safe position, if requested. Do not climb or move an unsafe door to obtain them.
Understand the repair scope and charges
Ask what the call-out or assessment charge covers, how labour and parts will be quoted and whether any after-hours charge applies. The price depends on the diagnosis and work required. A free new-door measure-and-quote enquiry does not mean repair attendance is free.
Before work proceeds, ask the technician to explain the fault and proposed repair. Keep the invoice and service record, including the date, model, work completed and any follow-up recommendation. If you think a product defect is involved, provide your purchase and service records for assessment under the applicable warranty.
