Program a remote for a B&D roller-door opener

Get your new remote ready for everyday use. We’ll take you through coding a compatible remote to Power Drive RDO-1V4 or Roll-A-Pro RDO-1V3 using the CODE SET button. Check your opener model first—the MODE-and-CLOSE sequence on our sectional openers is different.

Check the opener and transmitter

Applies to Power Drive RDO-1V4 and Roll-A-Pro RDO-1V3. Check the model/version label and match the controls to the linked manual before starting. A familiar product name or remote appearance alone does not establish compatibility.

This procedure does not cover every older B&D opener, PanelMax, commercial operator or gate motor. Use the instructions for that exact model. Roll-A-Door Secure and installations with an automatic lock also need their separate lock/system procedure.

Before you start

Work only on a sound door with its travel path clear and in view. Use safe access to the owner controls; if you cannot reach them safely, ask an installer for help. Remove only the small controls cover shown in the manual, not the motor housing. Keep children away and be ready for door movement when a remote is pressed.

Code the remote at the opener

  1. Switch on the opener’s power and remove the controls cover.
  2. Press and release CODE SET on the opener. The referenced manual shows a press-and-release action.
  3. Press and hold the chosen transmitter button for 3 seconds, then release it.
  4. Press and hold the same transmitter button again for 3 seconds, then release it.
  5. Refit the controls cover. With the door in view and its path clear, press the coded button to test.

Capacity and indicators

ModelStored transmitter capacity
Power Drive RDO-1V464
Roll-A-Pro RDO-1V38

The CODE SET indicator flashes while a code is being stored or a transmitter button is pressed. The OPEN and CLOSE indicators also flash during normal travel and stay on at their respective end positions. A flashing travel indicator alone does not mean the opener needs servicing.

If programming fails

Check your transmitter button, battery and compatibility first. Use CODE SET only as directed here, as other button combinations can delete stored controls. If the memory is full, decide which controls you want to retain before making further changes.

If the controls, indicators or release mechanism differ from this guide, stop and find your model’s manual or call us on 13 62 63. Have the opener model/version, remote or accessory model and the symptom ready. For damage or repeated faults, arrange a repair.
