Our Insul-Shield construction has an R-value of 1.4. This measures resistance to heat transfer through that construction; whole-door size and the rest of your garage also affect performance. Roof and wall insulation, ventilation, gaps and how you use the space all influence comfort and energy use, so we cannot promise a particular temperature or bill saving.

Understand the acoustic result

Our Panelift Insul-Shield system with jamb and lintel seals achieved an 18 dB result in Acoustic Logic testing dated 9 September 2014. That result belongs to the tested assembly. The improvement in your garage depends on its construction and the type of noise; it is not a guaranteed 18 dB reduction in every setting or at every frequency.

Insulation and perimeter sealing can help limit sound transfer in and out of a garage used for hobbies or a workshop. The room structure, openings and other noise paths still matter.

Insulation adds material to the assembly. We check springs, balance and opener capacity rather than assuming the finished door has unchanged weight.

Choose the right type of seal

Read the BAL-Maze configuration details if your building needs a documented bushfire performance level. Ordinary insulation or brush seals do not establish that rating.

Care and warranty

Keep seals clean and inspect them for tearing, gaps and wear. Do not cover ventilation required for the building or modify the door without checking the design. Seek professional advice if the door balance changes or panels are damaged.

The base door’s warranty and installation conditions apply. Seals, springs and lifting cables have a separate one-year component warranty in the current terms. Confirm the supplied insulation and complete door package on the quote.

Keep the opening clear, watch the door until it finishes moving and keep children away from the moving curtain, tracks and controls. Arrange professional attention if the door becomes heavy, noisy, uneven or damaged. Springs, cables and brackets are under load; adjustments belong with a qualified installer.

Wash exposed door surfaces and follow the owner handbook for cleaning sheltered areas. Coastal salt and industrial fallout need extra care; properties within one kilometre of a corrosive environment need specific advice. Keep running surfaces clean and follow the product instructions for lubrication rather than greasing nylon running strips. Ask us to set a maintenance schedule appropriate to use and exposure.
