BAL-40 protection for your installation

We’ve had BAL-Maze tested by CSIRO on a B&D sectional door installed to our instructions. Its rating applies to that complete door-and-seal arrangement. To achieve the tested performance, your installation needs the specified components and details.

We’ll match your assessed bushfire requirement to the permitted door, seals, surrounding construction and installation details. BAL-Maze helps address ember and debris entry; it does not make your garage fireproof or a place to shelter during a fire.

Choose your complete door and seal system

You can choose from a range of styles and colours. We’ll check your preferred accessories with the installer so the complete configuration stays within the tested scope.

Find your colour and profile

The standard sectional range includes Nullarbor, Seville, Madrid, Statesman and Grange. The available finish must also be approved for the BAL-Maze configuration you order.

Bring your colour ideas to us and compare a physical sample alongside your home’s finishes. We’ll confirm availability for your door size, profile, manufacturing location and installation, including any surcharge. Screens, lighting, timber-look patterns and weathering can affect appearance, so an exact match to another building product cannot be guaranteed.

Everyday use, automation and maintenance

The base Panelift or Panelift Icon door determines the spring rating, running gear, cable type and locking equipment. AUTO LOCK is standard on Icon and optional on compatible Panelift setups; a bushfire seal does not replace a security lock. Select Secure, Smart or Smart Pro to suit the approved door’s weight and size.

Keep seals intact and clear of debris. Have damaged seals, gaps or distorted panels assessed promptly, and avoid modifying the installed perimeter or adding unapproved ventilation openings. An alteration can change the tested arrangement.

Keep the opening clear, watch the door until it finishes moving and keep children away from the moving curtain, tracks and controls. Arrange professional attention if the door becomes heavy, noisy, uneven or damaged. Springs, cables and brackets are under load; adjustments belong with a qualified installer.

Wash exposed door surfaces and follow the owner handbook for cleaning sheltered areas. Coastal salt and industrial fallout need extra care; properties within one kilometre of a corrosive environment need specific advice. Keep running surfaces clean and follow the product instructions for lubrication rather than greasing nylon running strips. Ask us to set a maintenance schedule appropriate to use and exposure.

Your door and component warranty

The base door and components retain their respective warranty conditions. Current terms list Panelift at three years/10,000 cycles and Panelift Icon at five years/20,000 cycles, with eligible ten-year package cover subject to registration, installation and servicing conditions. Seals, springs and lifting cables have one-year component cover. Confirm the exact system and terms in the quotation.
