Fit and installation requirements

For Hiro, allow at least 35 mm from the curtain edge to the bracket and 80 mm to the wall. We recommend 130 mm to the bracket and 170 mm to the wall. Its slim body and removable 108 mm forks help with constrained installations. Battery mounting and your door’s guide and bracket requirements may need extra space.

Hiro supports left- or right-hand installation. Your installer will check the drum, shaft, forks, curtain, power supply and travel before setting limits and obstruction protection. That complete fit matters as much as peak force.

Power failure, access and maintenance

If your door is damaged, crooked, unbalanced or has a broken spring or cable, stop using it and arrange a repair. Do not disengage an open or unsupported door. Keep people and vehicles clear of the opening.

A charged compatible backup can provide limited powered operation during an outage on a sound door; capacity depends on load and battery condition. If manual operation is needed, start with the door sound and closed. Have your installer demonstrate the release and re-engagement procedure for your Hiro GDO-12 version, including any separate lock. Follow its own manual; residential sectional-opener procedures do not apply. Arrange appropriate external access if the garage has no other entrance.

We size commercial systems around the opening, daily and peak operating cycles, environment, access control and safety needs. Tell us about forklifts, delivery vehicles, public access and shift patterns. Maximum area alone does not establish suitability. The door, motor, controls and protective devices must be specified as a complete installation.

Have a qualified technician set the inspection and service schedule for actual use. Keep tracks and access areas clear, check wear and damage, and stop use after an impact or a safety fault. Do not adjust springs, chain drives or electrical controls without the appropriate training.

Warranty for this model

The current B&D general terms list two years or 10,000 cycles for Hiro GDO-12, whichever occurs first. Accessories and components have separate conditions. These are commercial model periods, not the seven-year residential-opener headline.

Confirm the exact model and applicable purchase terms in the quote and retain installation and service records.
