A door that is stuck or jammed
If the door is damaged, crooked, suddenly heavy, off its tracks or has a suspected broken spring or cable, stop using it and keep people clear. Do not release an open or unstable door from its opener. Springs, cables, brackets, tracks and balance adjustments need a trained garage door technician.
If there is no visible damage and the door is stable, check from a safe position for an obstruction in the opening and record any opener indicator. Only remove loose, accessible objects when the door is stationary and accidental operation has been prevented. Do not reach into tracks or dismantle components.
A door that has become noisy
Worn rollers, damaged tracks, loose fittings or an unbalanced door can contribute to noise. Ask for the cause to be assessed rather than masking it with lubricant. Use the actual door-care instructions; there is no universal instruction to oil tracks, springs and rollers together.
Leave roller replacement, hardware tightening around spring-loaded assemblies, track alignment and balance changes to a trained technician. Tell us whether the sound started suddenly or after an impact.
A door that reverses before closing
Check that the opening is clear and, if fitted, the Safety Beams are not visibly blocked by an object or dirt. Follow the manual for accessible cleaning and status indications. Do not bypass the beams or increase closing force to make the door stay down.
The current Smart Pro SDO-9V3/Smart SDO-7V3/Secure SDO-6V3 manual distinguishes main-light alerts after operation from MODE diagnostic indicators. For example, two main-light flashes relate to a Safety Beam issue in that manual. Do not apply that count to another model or another indicator.
If the fault persists, have the beam installation, door movement, force and limit settings assessed professionally.
A remote that responds slowly or not at all
Identify the transmitter, check its battery indication and use its specified replacement battery. See whether another known working control operates the system. Keep the door in view and the opening clear while testing.
Record any recent electrical changes, the distance from which the problem occurs and whether all transmitters are affected. A generic factory reset can erase settings and access; use only the troubleshooting steps for your exact opener.
A suspected broken spring
A sudden bang, a door that feels unusually heavy, uneven movement or a visible gap in a spring can indicate a serious fault. Do not try to lift, tension or replace the spring. Stop using the opener and arrange a professional assessment.
The spring system counterbalances the door. A stronger motor is not a substitute for correct balance, and an opener upgrade does not make a damaged door safe.
Prevent repeat problems
Follow the care and service schedule supplied with your actual door and opener. Our current Power Drive RDO-1V4/Roll-A-Pro RDO-1V3 and Smart Pro SDO-9V3/Smart SDO-7V3/Secure SDO-6V3 manuals call for the initial service within 12 months or 3,000 cycles, whichever comes first, then the listed ongoing service schedule. High use or particular conditions may need additional attention. Keep service records and use the applicable warranty terms.
