A guide to sectional garage doors
A sectional garage door is made from linked rigid panels. The panels travel up side tracks and then into the garage beneath the ceiling. That arrangement creates a broad design surface for profiles, colours and selected windows, while making the available ceiling space an important part of the decision.

Understand the travel path
A sectional door opens vertically without a panel swinging out over the driveway. Inside, the horizontal tracks and opener occupy space behind the opening. Check beams, storage, lights and services against the proposed installation rather than assuming the whole ceiling is either usable or unusable.
Our doors are made to measure within the chosen model’s limits. Opening size, profile, finish, wind requirements and track configuration can affect what is possible. An example single- or double-garage size is not an order specification.

Finger-safe design helps reduce a particular pinch risk; it is not permission to touch or pass under a moving door. Keep the opening clear and use the correct safety equipment and operating instructions.
Choose profiles, windows and insulation together
Our November 2025 sectional brochure includes Seville, Madrid, Grange, Statesman and Nullarbor profiles, with texture and finish restrictions. Plain and Stockton windows are shown for the Grange and Statesman profiles. Match the exact combination before you order; not every finish or option works with every profile.
Insul-Shield is a factory option for suitable new sectional doors. The brochure states that Nullarbor Smooth doors are not available with insulation. Ask us to check the chosen profile, dimensions and equipment rather than treating insulation as a universal add-on or a DIY retrofit.
Select an opener for the complete door
The current Smart Pro SDO-9V3, Smart SDO-7V3 and Secure SDO-6V3 manual lists a maximum door area of 18m². Maximum door weight is 300kg for Smart Pro and 235kg for Smart and Secure. Both area and weight limits matter, together with balance, installation and intended use.
Confirm what comes in the package and what needs additional equipment: physical locking, Safety Beams, smartphone control and battery backup are separate considerations. A compatible opener is chosen for the actual door, not simply because the opening is described as a double garage.
Account for exposure and maintenance
If the property has assessed wind or bushfire requirements, provide them before choosing the door. Use the applicable tested model and installation specification. A general statement about a product family is not approval for every site or configuration.
Follow the care and service schedule supplied with your actual door and opener. Our current Power Drive RDO-1V4/Roll-A-Pro RDO-1V3 and Smart Pro SDO-9V3/Smart SDO-7V3/Secure SDO-6V3 manuals call for the initial service within 12 months or 3,000 cycles, whichever comes first, then the listed ongoing service schedule. High use or particular conditions may need additional attention. Keep service records and use the applicable warranty terms.
Keep your quote, installation and service records. Total Confidence eligibility and the applicable component periods are set out in the warranty terms; changing an opener later does not automatically restart the door’s cover.
