Flex-A-Door

Make more of a garage with limited headroom. Our Flex-A-Door is a useful alternative when you’re replacing a tilt door or working with a tight opening. Its flexible steel curtain travels up and back along curved tracks, sitting close to the ceiling without swinging out into your driveway.

How the door works

Flex-A-Door uses our Roll-A-Door curtain with horizontal tracks rather than a roll above the opening. It fits behind the opening, including suitable arched openings, and can visually coordinate with a neighbouring Roll-A-Door. The door does not need the outward swing space of a canopy-style tilt door.

Construction featureBenefit and detail
Enclosed extension springsPositioned above head height, away from routine hand contact
Running systemNylofelt strips and nylon rollers with bearings; plastic inserts in the horizontal tracks support smooth travel
WeathersealDeep-cushion bottom seal helps close uneven-floor gaps and reduce water and leaves
Spring rating20,000 operating cycles
Manual ventilation positionYou can leave the door partly open manually, but it will not secure the garage in that position

Fit and configuration

We need to measure headroom, side clearance, opening shape and the depth available beneath the ceiling. Although Flex-A-Door helps with restricted headroom, it still needs a clear horizontal track area. Existing tilt-door arms, springs and supports must be assessed during replacement.

We measure the opening, side room, headroom and ceiling depth before confirming the manufactured size. We also specify the approved opener and mounting arrangement for this horizontal-running door. Roller-door and sectional-door measurements or opener recommendations are not interchangeable with Flex-A-Door.

Warranty and care

We back Flex-A-Door with the cover below. Springs have a separate design-cycle rating and warranty period, and component limits still apply.

CoverPeriod
Standard residential cover1 year or 20,000 cycles, whichever occurs first

Seals, springs and lifting cables have separate one-year component cover. Opener accessories and rails also have separate terms. Keep the purchase, installation and service records. Please check your warranty for exclusions, including normal wear, damage, unsuitable use and corrosion. The warranty is additional to your applicable consumer rights.

We cover Flex-A-Door under its own one-year/20,000-cycle warranty. The ten-year packages available on other door ranges do not apply to Flex-A-Door.

Keep the opening clear, watch the door until it finishes moving and keep children away from the moving curtain, tracks and controls. Arrange professional attention if the door becomes heavy, noisy, uneven or damaged. Springs, cables and brackets are under load; adjustments belong with a qualified installer.

Wash exposed door surfaces and follow the owner handbook for cleaning sheltered areas. Coastal salt and industrial fallout need extra care; properties within one kilometre of a corrosive environment need specific advice. Keep running surfaces clean and follow the product instructions for lubrication rather than greasing nylon running strips. Ask us to set a maintenance schedule appropriate to use and exposure.
