What a brush seal does
A brush or bristle seal uses a strip of flexible bristles in a carrier to reduce the gap at a specified part of the opening. Its job is to meet the moving door appropriately without obstructing its operation.

Brush seals and bottom weather seals are different

Neither brush nor rubber is universally better. Wear, exposure, gap shape and the task determine the suitable material. Ask which seal suits the actual gap and exposure rather than choosing from a general material ranking.
Have the gap assessed first
A new gap can be caused by a worn seal, a damaged door, floor variation or a change in the way the door travels. Adding a thicker seal without finding the cause can create drag or affect closing.
Have a technician check the opening, bottom rail, movement and proposed seal. Do not drill brackets, alter tracks or adjust springs yourself. Keep drainage and any required ventilation in mind; sealing is not a solution to pooling water or a substitute for building work.
Care for accessible seals safely
Inspect visible seals when the door is stationary and accidental operation has been prevented. Look for missing or distorted bristles, cracked material, loose carriers and areas no longer making the intended contact. Do not reach into moving parts.
Use the product’s care instructions for accessible cleaning. A soft brush can remove loose dust and cobwebs where access is safe. Report damaged carriers or loose sections rather than attempting repairs near spring-loaded hardware. Have seal condition included in the regular door service.
Set realistic expectations
A suitable seal can help reduce unwanted debris and draughts at the treated gap. Performance depends on the whole opening and the condition of the door. It does not guarantee a dry garage during flooding, an insect-free space, a particular noise reduction or household energy savings.
Ask for the seal type, locations, installation scope and warranty to be identified in the quote. Our general warranty terms distinguish seals from the door’s main cover, so do not assume a new seal carries the full door warranty period.
